In the Spring of 2015 I went on a permaculture eco-adventure retreat in Hawaii. During the trip I learned about permaculture, a system of agricultural and social design principles centered around simulating or directly utilizing the patterns and features observed in natural ecosystems. My accommodations were completely off-grid and most of the food I ate was grown on the property. The trip represented a lifestyle I would like to eventually adapt. The trip was intended to be a vacation, but I simply cannot travel anywhere without being inspired to draw the landscape, and so I did!
